Sustainable fishing

Activities for the development of sustainable fishing

The team includes a specialized group of marine biologists, who work side by side with fish operators for the innovation of traditional fishing systems, that are increasingly impacting and destructive, in favor of new techniques, working methods or management plans, aimed at greater selectivity and greater sustainability.
Fishermen are the first partners of these projects, embarking CESTHA biologists as on-board scientific observers (National Program for the Collection of Fishery Data PNRDA, coordinated by the Ministry for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies), in the marinas going from Chioggia to San Benedetto del Tronto, in collaboration with the CNR or for European projects, such as the Life + 12/NAT/IT/937, TARTALIFE+ or the INTER-REG Italia - Croatia, PRIZEFISH program.
